New Zealand’s Most Beautiful Views competition

Terms and conditions – 22 July 2020

Members of the public are invited to suggest the New Zealand views they think are the most beautiful for Macular Degeneration NZ’s new campaign to be in with a chance of winning an eye test, as well as frames from the Bill Bass range and prescription lenses (including sunglasses) thanks to competition sponsor Essilor.

Entries will close at 5.00pm on Sunday 9th August 2020.

Entrants are required to fully complete the official entry form on the website, including providing a photograph and location detail for their favourite view, and may enter the competition as many times as they wish.

Entries will be displayed on the Macular Degeneration NZ website and may be used by Macular Degeneration NZ for publicity purposes.  Entries may also be used by Macular Degeneration NZ to promote Macular Degeneration Awareness Week 2020 which will take place between 2nd and 9th November.  The chosen entries may be used on digital, print, or broadcast media and may be cropped, edited or photoshopped to fit the creative.  By completing the entry form, entrants acknowledge they accept these terms and conditions.

A shortlist of up to twenty-five views will be chosen by the judging panel made up of Shavaughn Ruakere, Claire Turnbull and Rach Stewart, ensuring they are appropriate, fit for purpose and include a good geographical spread around the country. If more than one entrant suggests the same view, the entry going forward to the shortlist will be chosen at random by coin-toss or similar. The shortlisted views will then be put to the public vote via online survey of a representative sample of New Zelanders. The decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The winner will be the shortlisted entry which receives the most public votes via the online survey. The winner will be announced via the Macular Degeneration NZ Facebook page on or before 2 November 2020.

Macular Degeneration NZ will send the prize to the top three entries via email.

The free eye test and glasses and lenses will be for the top three entries.  The eye test must be fulfilled by optometrists suggested by Essilor who will find a suitable company nearby to the winner’s home address.  The winners must make their own way to their agreed optometrist for their appointment and Macular Degeneration NZ will not provide transport or accommodation for the appointment. The prize is not transferable. If the winner is under the age of 16, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 16. The winner’s eye test will be at a mutually convenient date and time, agreed upon between the winner and Essilor’s suggested Optometrist between 2 November 2020 and 2 April 2021.

Macular Degeneration NZ reserves the right to use the winner’s entry as well as name, age (if under 16), and city or town only for publicity purposes associated with the draw.

If the winner is under 16 years old the prize will be delivered to the winner’s parent or guardian listed on the entry form.

If the winner cannot be contacted by the promoter within two weeks of the prize draw the prize may be redrawn at the promoter's discretion.

Unless entrants opt in to receive latest news updates, Macular Degeneration NZ will destroy their names and contact details within one month of the competition close. No details of any entrant will be passed to a third party.

Neither the Promoter nor any other person or party associated with this promotion shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in this promotion or with any prizes offered.

The promoters are not liable for any failure (for whatever reason) to record an entry into the prize draw.

Employees of Macular Degeneration NZ, Essilor, and their agencies and their immediate families may enter the competition and are eligible for the full prize.

The promoters reserve the right to add any promotions or amend these terms and conditions in any way up to the date for closing of entries.
